New Residue Laboratory has been Established at the Atomic Energy Commission of Syria

A new laboratory has been established to screen and monitor the residues of veterinary drugs, naturally occurring and synthetic anabolic hormones, and growth promoters in food (e.g., meat, liver, kidney, poultry, fish, milk etc.), blood and feedstuffs. Establishment of this laboratory equipped with the necessary facilities, materials and chemicals has also been supported by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Vienna through the Technical Cooperation Department. The laboratory is expected to provide services related to ensuring the quality and safety of animal originated food and animal feed.
